Better Protect your Pooch!

For most of us, the very last thing we would ever want to do is cause harm to our fur babies, in this case, canines. I have now lived with a dog for over a year and only want to protect her. As health issues continue to rise in our four-legged companions, we need only look at a few factors to understand why and easily shift things to avoid potential health threats.

Our homes offer the most hazards for exposure to toxins from wood and tile/linoleum cleaners and polishes to carpet deodorizers and emissions from air “fresheners” and candles. Any non-natural cleaners are to be avoided because if they walk upon it, lick it or inhale it; they are exposed to it. The concern carries over to include second-hand smoke and vapor from e-cigs too.

Most of us know about the dangers from a dog ingesting chocolate, grapes, onions, garlic, raisins, and human medications, but did you know that if you are feeding them canned dog food the BPA’s found in most can cause serious issues. Some companies offer BPA-free cans, but a fresh diet is best.

Please note that rawhide treats are not safe for a dog of any size due to possible death by choking, intestinal blockage and poisoning. It is not a meat treat but rather a leather industry by-product, the backside of leather hides and are often finished with a myriad of non-food-grade glues. If you feed these to your dog or ever would, you owe it to all concerned to review it or investigate them further. Here is a terribly cute and effective video that explains it all. To view the video click HERE.

Too many vaccines can cause harm as well, and you can investigate online to learn more but just know there is controversy around how much and how often some are given when a simple titer test could be taken to assess if your pooch has been effectively inoculated rather than over medicated.

GMO ingredients in dog food should be avoided with the most coming through corn and soy grown in America. Also, canines require no grains in their diets, and some dog food companies use them as inexpensive fillers. Always buy the best food you are able/willing to, with no byproducts and a focus on meats and vegetables. Ever wonder why allergies in dogs have risen and it is often GMO’s and may be the same for humans.

One of the largest culprits of exposing dogs to toxins is through fertilizers, pesticides, etc. used on grass, in gardens and carried in the water flowing next to curbs. Like humans, the dog can uptake whatever their flesh, including paw pads and nose, is exposed to as well as through licking and inhalation.

In one study at Tufts, it was proven that a canines exposure to grass that has been professionally treated by a lawn care company increased their risk for death-inducing canine malignant lymphoma by as much as 70 percent! If your neighbor is having their lawn treated the drift of it into parts of your yard are very likely. Large parks, schools, apartments, etc. are potential toxic areas since so often they use poisonous products to treat the grass. Please investigate this further.

I understand how much our canine companions mean to us and wanted to ensure that you knew what I did in how to keep your love healthier and safer. Happy Cinco-De-Mayo amigo and enjoy your weekend! Feel free to follow Nutritional Truths here or on Facebook and share as you care to-Be well!

If you Love Dogs read this.

Found myself at the movie theater yesterday to watch an award winning movie that when complete I wondered if I had been punked. The very best thing about the movie was a Trailer that ran before it, and I thought so much of it I decided to share it with you in today’s blog.

If you love or even just like dogs, then this is a movie I would bet anything you will enjoy. A movie that will bring one laughter, smiles, joy and for those that know the grief of a pets death, comfort beyond measure. I returned home from the movie and watched the trailer several times, eliciting a powerful response each time.

The premise of the movie speaks volumes to me since I have become enamored with our Paisley. A cat man first but a dog is a whole other level, and everyone deserves to see this movie.

Based on the bestselling novel, A Dogs Purpose brings this story of one devoted dog to life. It is directed by the guy who made The Cider House Rules and more recently The 100-Foot Journey. Also the movie’s producer did Zombieland and television’s The Golden Girls.

Remember that your dog’s feet do take in through their pads toxins you might not have concerned yourself with before but you should if you care about their wellness. From floor cleaners, polishes and kitchen and bath cleaning agents to carpet deodorizers and chemicals on the grass of wherever they walk including parks and sidewalks.

Back to the movie, watch the preview and see it when it comes out in a couple of weeks. Here is the link to the preview on YouTube https://youtu.be/1jLOOCADTGs

Puppy Praise!

If you’re a puppy parent and go for drives just so your pooch may hang their head out the window joyfully then you should know this. No matter your style of parenting canines the following is certainly worth knowing.

It turns out that when we praise our pooches, it is the tone and not so much the words that impact them the most. A recent study proved how their brains respond to the tone and texture of our voice more so than the actual words spoken.

Quite simply, if you want your pooch to work their tail and feel the praise, then raise the tone of your voice while praising them and wear a smile. Dogs never say the wrong thing and are some of the best listeners I have ever met!

I have written several other blogs about how to best care for your pooch please take a look around. Christmas is fast approaching, and I hope you are looking forward to it and all it entails for you. Enjoy your weekend, share as you care to and Be Well!

Avoid poisoning your dog.

If you are a dog owner, then you understand the unlimited love that dwells inside each and every dog. This week we celebrate the first birthday of our critter Paisley, and we could not be happier. When we invite a dog into our lives, we are quietly entering a commitment to care for and love our friend to the best of our ability for all of their days, as it should be.

Be sure not to repay their love by ensuring their demise via cancer. Like with humans, most everything we place on our skin ends up inside us traveling through the bloodstream. So if you spray your lawn with pesticides or herbicides or especially if you have a professional service do it then you are very likely poisoning your dog. Do right by your pooch and stop dosing them with toxins, if you have been. The same also applies to outdoor kitties.

If you live in an apartment or condo then find out what toxins are applied to the grass they walk upon at your complex and/or the park because your dog is taking it in transdermally through the pads of their feet, inhalation, and from licking anything that has been sprayed or licking it off of themselves.

Study after study has shown increased cancer rates as much as 70 percent of dogs exposed to those pesticides and herbicides. And it can also come from neighboring lawns or parks up to 50 feet away. If your best friend is over fifty pounds, they are at the highest risk of all.

What you feed your four-legged friends should be species specific and without grains or fillers. The basis of good health for them as for us is within proper nutrition, water and avoiding exposure to toxins.

To better care for your canine friend don’t use pesticides or herbicides on your lawn and make sure your neighbor is not using toxic chemicals that may easily be a risk to your pets. Consider removing the threat altogether by keeping them from grass that may contain such toxins. Bathe your pup or give them a good foot soak if they get exposed to treated grass.

There are several options for lawn care that won’t harm your pet just look for organic solutions and further push synthetics out of you and your pets world for a healthier longer life. Investigate further online and share this blog with everyone who loves their pooch.

Have a wonderful weekend now go play with your canine and Be Well!

Top Ten Reasons for Canine Companionship

When it comes to dogs in America, we love them. We love them as family members and not as some do in China, Korea, Mexico or Indonesia and half-dozen other places, as a meal. They come in many shapes, sizes and temperaments. They all share several things in common regardless of lineage or breed.

Many folks think dogs are strict carnivores, but they are not. They are opportunistic carnivores and can live long healthy lives without critter flesh. Many of today’s dog foods and treats are high in carbohydrates, filler and very little nutrition.

If you want the very best health for your dog considers making sure, the following ingredients are not in their daily kibble: corn anything, wheat anything, soy anything, critter byproduct of any kind, BHA & BHG, and propylene glycol. Investigate Dr. Mercola Pets for more healthful information.

There are tons of recipes for tasty, nutritious treats online made from plants that will serve your dog well. Also, consider looking into a quality probiotic for your canine friend to allow them to make the very most of the nutrition you give them. No one will ever love you like a dog does so show them, love, too.

Dogs to me are a gift from our creator and allow us to see better how we are in the world. Although I will always love cats, dogs may have become my favorite of the two:) Here are the top ten reasons I have found to invite a canine into ones life. Many of my friends have several of them, and now I know why.

10. They are always up for a good time.
9. They can exercise with you.
8. They can watch TV with you.
7. They love giving kisses.
6. They are easy to please.
5. They are quick to forgive.
4. They will clean the dishes if you let them.
3. They can listen to you for hours without judgement.
2. They love their humans more than anything, except maybe food.
1. They become part of the family.

I recently learned of a situation where neighbors “share” a dog. One has children with parents working, so the dog stays with its second family a retired couple next door during the day. So the dog benefits from all the companionship as do both families! Something to consider if you leave your pup home alone all day or know someone who does. Share as you wish, Happy Easter, enjoy your weekend and Be Well!

An amazing story of Love

Having a first puppy as part of our family as given me an entirely new appreciation for our canine friends. It is impossible to describe the immense love I feel for her and after eight weeks it just keeps growing.

Our Paisley with a question

Our Paisley with a question

My commitment on this blog is to share truths that will serve you and those you love well and after reading this story I was brought to tears, ok sobs, and I credit the expansion of my heart as being brought about by puppy love.

Stay away from dog food containing corn, soy, or other things you cannot pronounce as your dog’s body was not meant to be fueled by them. For all solutions to pet issues check out Dr. Mercola Healthy Pets online.

Let’s head back to 1920’s Tokyo where a University of Tokyo Agriculture Professor Hidesaburo Ueno would walk each morning to the train station followed by his Akita dog Hachiko who would then return in the afternoon for his humans return to the station.

Faithful Hachiko

Faithful Hachiko

Until one day at work in 1925 when Ueno died while lecturing and of course never came back to the station to walk home with Hachiko. Hachiko would return to the train station each and every day after to wait on his friend.

Doing this for ten years until his death. At that time, someone erected a statue of Hachiko. Recently a photo of Hachiko surfaced showing him waiting one day at the train station.

While some folks in China will raise dogs to eat Japan has a long history of loving and appreciating dogs and cats. In fact, the photo below is of his funeral shows the love that was felt for him.

The part of the story that produced more than a few sobs is that honoring the event from 90 years ago the University of Tokyo’s Agriculture Department has recently erected a bronze statue of man and dog together at last.

Ready to learn the Truth about Cancer?

The entire reason I wrote Nutritional Truths was so folks could come out of the fog and learn that getting Cancer or another “disease” is almost always optional as is doing away with them. Many consider that cancer is not a disease but is a symptom of the body being out of balance. Solutions outside of cutting, chemo and radiation abound and are effective, but the medical establishment and media continue to perpetuate profitable lies.

Beginning Tuesday a new groundbreaking docu-series begins: The truth about cancer: A global quest. It will run for 9 days with a new episode each evening and it is FREE. Watch 100 doctors, researchers and specialists that focus in cancer prevention and treatment from around the world with a mission to make cancer a thing of the past!

The guy who has made this series Ty Bollinger is passionate about sharing what he has learned over the last several years of all the pathways to healing that are being used successfully. There is never a guarantee of wellness with any protocol but people are accessing non-toxic solutions all over the world now and many have learned that disease is an option.

Do you remember the story from up in Connecticut where a couples 17-year-old daughter was diagnosed with cancer and the parents and her decided to take the non-toxic route to wellness. Then the state showed up with a dozen patrol cars, removed her from the home, and strapped her down in the hospital poisoning her with chemotherapy against her and her parents will for several weeks? That’s not the first time that has happened in America and in this series she exposes the truth about it all.

I would encourage you to invest the time in watching these each night! If you think that the only thing to do if diagnosed with cancer is surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, I understand and please do yourself a favor and watch this! You and all those you love deserve to know these truths. All it requires is an email address and first name. Click HERE to register!

Puppy update: Tomorrow we have our new puppy trainer coming over to straighten us out. Paisley is growing like a weed and burrows deeper into the lawn and my heart each day. Please share this as you see fit and take the time to watch all of the docu-series and know the truth about ending cancer. Be well!
